We visited Valparaiso, Chile for a few days and was awestruck by the awesome street art and graffiti around the city. Valparaiso is a very cool city – it was a major port town, but then they built the Panama Canal and the city hit some hard times. Subsequently, you see the grand buildings that are in decay. The city is built on a hillside, so it requires all these obscure stairways and pathways to get around.
There are also ascensores which you can pay $.50 to get a ride to the top of the hill, and there are about 10 of those hidden around town. Valparaiso is quite frankly one of the coolest cities I have been to. It’s not something I can really describe accurately and I highly recommend y’all visit in your life time.
I’ll be posting some more photos of the stairways, cityscapes, and this cool functioning (but rundown) cementary. Stay tuned. In the meantime, enjoy this incredible art.
