Black Sails

Black Sails isn't your typical fresh aquatic fragrance. Instead of smelling like clean laundry or a beach vacation, it captures the feeling of standing on the deck of an old ship just before a storm rolls in. This is an absolute hit. I catch whiffs of this all day when I’m wearing it, but not in a cloying perfumey way. More like the way the smell of gingerbread cookies linger in the kitchen. I can’t quite pinpoint exactly what I’m smelling that is so intriguing, but it brings to mind leather, patchouli, grandpa‘s sweet pipe tobacco, sasparilla, spiced rum, and incense. I think I’m hooked…. Or “harpooned” as the case may be.

…for not giving this five stars. It smells good; not as good as Temple Smoke, but I put some Black Sails on early this afternoon and it’s after midnight and I can still smell it. I don’t have a Plus One currently, but I just know women will like the scent; it’s masculine, like bourbon and rum, like “dang this broke can you fix it of course I can” masculine along with “daddy can you kiss my owwie” dad energy masculine.

Honestly, Black Sails is 4.5 stars, losing half a star only because I can’t give it five stars else it would be as good as Temple Smoke. But if Temple Smoke lasted as long as Black Sails, it would be a ten out of five, so…

This is my secodary scent but the scent is great for smelling good all day.

This is a nice one! There are a lot of fragrance notes that remind me of other scents but when combined create a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts. One of the standouts is the subtle hint of gunpowder, one of the most manly aromas imaginable. Along with that is a leafy flourish and a note that honestly reminds me of ginger ale. This fragrance really ignites the senses in all the right ways. Well done, Beardbrand!

Great smell, rustic, not quite campfire but something along those lines.

Absolutely love this cologne. Could not have made a better scent if I could have handpicked it myself. Now I have added Four Vices and Temple Smoke. Love them all!

Black Sails is strong scent...hard for me to put into words so however Beadbrand describes go with it and prepare for the compliments.

Your Black Sails cologne is definitely unique...like no other scent I have known. It is an attention getter in a most subtle way, but I suggest that it should be applied sparingly for best results (incredible results).

I personally couldn't smell gunpowder, but the overall scent is amazing. Plenty of compliments already.

Black Sails did not disappoint. It gives a distinctive, dark-tinged vibe without coming off as heavy. I like it very much. The gunpowder touch adds a sort of peppery layer to the top scents. Recommended.

This is the scent equivalent of chopping wood, rebuilding an engine, and then standing triumphantly in front of the campfire you just lit. It makes me want to pound my chest like a dominant gorilla and grunt approvingly at absolutely nothing.

Greatest Scent I've found.

I've been wearing beardbrand temple smoke for years, and enjoyed how it smelled and made me feel confident. Recently I found the black sails fragrance and decided I wanted to give it a try. Being satisfied with temple smoke I was sure that I would likely be happy with black sails. Honestly black sails is on another level. It's more complex, makes me feel like I'm walking into an old pub full of cigar smoke and leather, vanilla and musk. It's an awesome fragrance, I'm so happy I gave it a try after reading some of the reviews. Will be subscribing to get it on the regular so I always have some on hand. I want my coffin to smell like black sails so I can enjoy it for eternity.

Short game- awesome …very provicative

This cologne smells like no other cologne which is why I love it. It will make the man in you very obvious. Women gravitate to you - they don't know why, they just do.
