Four Vices

While not exactly like the original Four Vices, its spirit is captured well here and that makes it my favorite fragrance. Please bring this to every product line, the soaps, the balms, the full Monty!

Four Vices was definitely a disappointment for me. It has a very light, powdery, overly sweet scent—almost like cotton candy. It isn’t strong at all, and the little fragrance it does have doesn’t last very long. I was expecting something richer and more masculine from a beard-brand cologne, but this one completely missed the mark for me.

Four Vices wasn't an instant favorite for me, but it's grown on me over time. Tobacco, coffee, hops, oud, and green notes come together into something warm, earthy, and unexpected.

The darker notes give it depth without making it heavy, while a subtle sweetness keeps it smooth and inviting. The more I wear it, the more I appreciate how different it is.

And apparently I'm not the only one—my wife really likes this one. That's always a good sign.

I have almost all the colones from beard brand - and four vices for me is my least favorite. Its scent is subtle which is ok - I love bold fortune - temple smoke and black sails - more robust - so 4V is ok but not my fav - thx beard band making great colognes at an affordable price and great scents - I look forward to you new limited one coming this fall!

You should give this one a try! Very clean scent. So far it’s been hard finding any fragrance that doesn’t smell good. I’ve gotten several positive responses on Old Money, Desert Road, Temple Smoke, Norse Winter , as well as the new Black Sails and Ghost Tracer! So far almost all have been REALLY good!

Bought 4 scents: Temple Smoke, Four Vices, Black Dails, and Norse Wither. Like all four. Temple Smoke is, however, my favorite!

I was taken in by wanting to be reminded of the discontinued Four Vices beard oil. Whilst this does not hit quite the same notes, it’s still a good fragrance, with some depth. I’m looking to try and compliment my beard products and cologne, so I’ll try some others in the future. I still love Beardbrand as a business, they’ve navigated the past decade very well and I’m glad to be able to order into the UK again. Thanks BB.

I got my husband the little 4 pack of cologne. We already knew he loved Four Vices but the new one, Black Sails is amazing.

It's a good product and scent, I just like my other three scents better.

One may think they wouldn't wanna smell like the things listed in the description of this scent. You absolutely do. You'll be drawn to it's smooth darkness. It will carry you through out the day beautifully.

I've purchased all Beardbrands colognes, and this is my least favorite so far. Not to say it's bad, it's the lowest on my ranking. I have tried to like it and wear it more but it's not for me. To me it smells like baby oil and poor choices. Maybe they could change the name to Diddy's Party.

I love the scents. Very unique and very manly, but they are a bit too subdued. I feel like when I’m wearing them, the only one that can smell them is me. There is a happy medium between overpowering and underwhelming. These scents are not strong enough to be that happy medium.

Four Vices is exactly how it is described. “Somewhere between Saturday night and Sunday morning. I can’t explain exactly why but for me it brings Summer nights in the city memories, so it has become my summer scent. Ghost Tracer seems to have that vibe described, but I have not tried that one yet so I don’t know- I have never done traditional “summer” scents so Four Vices is perfect for me. I would love it as full set. I was a Bold Fortune guy 100 percent but Four Vices has taken the top spot for me. I’ll probably wear it year round. It has just enough depth to work for cooler weather also. I’m excited to also experiment with layering- I may order me some Desert Road and add some leather scent into the mix. Thank you for this one. Keep up the solid work.

I am so glad Four Vices is back! It doesn’t smell exactly the same but the spirit and lineage of the original is present and accounted for.

When I was first introduced to Beardbrand, it was with a sampler pack from a family member. I indulged the scents and landed on a few favorites. This happened to be while the selections were being reduced to make the best products available, so a few of my favorites were available in limited selections. Four Vices has always had a special place for me, but the only way I could manage it was through the eau de parfum. And I have bought more than my fair share. When it was re-released as a beard oil with a honed scent profile, I waited patiently until I could purchase a bottle. That same enthusiasm carried over to the roll-on cologne, and I’m over the moon. The day I got my cologne, I applied it just so I could be comforted with the familiar scents and even hours later found myself drinking the rich, deep, and nostalgic flavors across my nostrils. Beardbrand definitely delivered, and Four Vices will always be my favorite!

Great smell and easy to apply.

I was always a fan of 4V since the beginning. Was very sad when it is discontinued. I was so excited when it came back from the grave, but it was different. However, I love it even more than its original iteration(s). It quickly rivaled my top favorite of the new Black Sails battling back and forth for first place. This cologne form is still subtle and smells about the same as the beard oil with just a bit more clarity on each fragrance note, and helps with its longevity and projection. Love it and hope it (and/or Black Sails) becomes permanent in all products!

Great scent! Next to Norse Winter, this is a great alternative

I'm so pumped to have this scent back! I'm now left enjoying the sublime fragrance but shackled with the burden of deciding what beard care products to use with it! It would be amazing to have this scent back for beard balm/oil and even like a spray so I could layer the roll on with a quick spritz. But like I said, I'm just glad it's back! It's so good!!

Smells more baby powderish than I remembered. Still good but I would have only bought one if I knew to be honest. Decent, but I am not over the moon about it like when I first got it a while back.

Compliments daily on how I smell. From 10 feet away. I can't even smell it the they can. I love this scent and this cologne.

Four Vices was our very first special edition fragrance, launching back in early 2014. The idea came to me as I thought about what a beardsman’s favorite vices would be.
Coffee, tobacco, cannabis and hops.
Once that was determined, it came the hard part of blending those for notes together to create something unique and memorable. It wasn’t easy, but shortly after launch we knew our customers loved it.
Four Vices was never our “easy” fragrance. I learned the hard way that not all “tobacco” is the same and it depends on where it was grown and harvested as to what the notes were going to be.
A beautifully balanced fragrance became a dirty, earthy fragrance for a period of time. Customers didn’t love that version as much as our launch version.
Through growth, we improved our processes, formulation, and systems to make a version that was reproducible, pleasant, and unique. That Four Vices continued until 2022 when we made the hard decision to slim down our fragrance offering (in hindsight, that was the wrong call).
In 2025, we brought Four Vices back from the grave and internally called it “Zombie” Four Vices as it changed a little bit while it was dead. If you have a keen memory of the previous version of Four Vices you notice the “Zombie” hits you a little softer. The powder top notes don’t hit as harshly with those peppery notes like last one.
After about 15 minutes those top notes evolve and out comes the Four Vices that you’ve known for years.
Four Vices has become a favorite of mine, especially in the pure fragrance. It’s something you can wear year round, is well balanced and not overpowering.
In life, you aren’t loud about your favorite vices and Four Vices is similar to your relationship with your vices – subdued, subtle and complex. That is Four Vices.
But beware because Four Vices can be as addictive as your vices. Once you try it, you may never want another fragrance.
