What Is MCT Oil in Perfume?

MCT oil is the carrier in these roll-ons. Caprylic/capric triglyceride. A highly refined coconut oil that holds the fragrance instead of alcohol.

What Is MCT Oil in Perfume?

MCT stands for medium-chain triglyceride. The INCI name is Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride. It is a highly refined coconut oil.

We mix it with parfum. The blend stays alcohol-free. The steel ball puts a measured amount on skin. The fragrance sits closer to the body and develops with your chemistry instead of flashing into the room.

Current line uses this carrier for every roll-on. See how the format works in What Is Oil-Based Perfume?.

Is MCT Just Fractionated Coconut Oil?

People confuse the two. They are close. They are not the same thing.

MCT is more rigorously processed. Coconut oil gets split, the caprylic and capric parts get kept and put back together with glycerol, then filtered and deodorized. Fractionated coconut oil is held to a lower standard.

Virgin coconut stays solid and smells like coconut. That is not what we use. MCT stays clear, quiet, and consistent so the variable is the composition itself. Strength detail lives on What 20 Percent Eau de Parfum Means.

Why Use MCT Instead of Alcohol?

Alcohol flashes off quickly. The scent jumps into the room first, then thins. MCT holds the scent near the skin. You get a quieter release. The roll-on limits how much leaves the bottle at once.

I am not saying one base is better. Life is not binary. Some days you want the lift of alcohol. Other days the closer wear of oil fits better. The full comparison is in Oil vs Alcohol. Application steps sit in How to Apply Oil Perfume.
