What 20% Eau de Parfum Means

What 20% Eau de Parfum Means

Eau de Parfum is a strength label. It marks how much fragrance sits in the mix. Bandholz publishes the number. Ours is about 20 percent.

What Does Eau de Parfum Mean?

Eau de Parfum points to concentration. The letters do not name a scent family. They do not set a mood. They mark how much fragrance oil is in the bottle.

People see EdP on labels and treat it like a style. It is not. It is a strength tag. The real detail is the percent next to it.

How Do EdC, EdT, EdP, and Parfum Differ?

Industry ranges are conventions. They overlap. They are not a law.

Eau de Cologne (EdC) usually sits near 2 to 5 percent fragrance. Eau de Toilette (EdT) often runs 5 to 15 percent. Eau de Parfum (EdP) lands near 15 to 20 percent. Parfum or extrait often starts around 20 percent and can go higher.

Those bands bleed into each other. Composition matters. The carrier matters. The letters alone leave room for variation. I would not treat the tiers as a scoreboard.

Why Does Bandholz Publish About 20%?

We publish the percent so the label means something. Our formula holds about 20 percent fragrance in MCT oil. The mix stays alcohol-free. We bottle it in 20 mL roll-ons.

We do not run a separate EdC or EdT line under different letters. The house number is about 20 percent. Oil perfume is explained in What Is Oil-Based Perfume?. Oil versus alcohol is a sister walk in Oil vs Alcohol in Colognes & Perfumes. This piece stays on the strength labels.

Does Higher Percent Always Mean Stronger?

No. A higher percent does not guarantee a stronger result. Carrier type changes the outcome. The blend changes the outcome. Skin changes the outcome.

Some lower-concentration mixes can push farther than you expect. Some higher ones stay close. The number on the bottle is one fact. It is not the whole story.
